Afrobeats singer Asake has released his debut album titled Mr. Money With the Vibe. Released Thursday 8 September 2022, it comes after a slew of chart topping singles and mind blowing performances.
Born Ahmed Ololade Asake, he can easily be described as the man of the year as far as music goes in Afrobeats. His songs have set the template for hits in 2022 and his debut year is unprecedented in the history of Afrobeats.
The Nigerian singer, entertainer, songwriter, media personality, and musician, studied theatre and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. His music career got mainstream in 2020 when he released a freestyle titled “Mr. Money”. A remix with Zlatan and Peruzzi followed. He released songs like “Body” and “Yanyan” before he was signed by YBNL in February 2022 and later got signed by Empire Distribution in July 2022.
Asake often uses an uptempo Afro and Amapiano-styled beat with elements of Fuji (a Yoruba traditional music genre) in his songs. On the 1st of September 2022, Asake announced the dropping of his first studio album “Mr. Money With The Vibe” which was released seven days later, the album received high praise from fans in Nigeria and across the world.
Before the latest album, Asake released the Asake Ololade EP earlier in the year.
