Art X has sent out a call for applications for the 2021 edition of the Access Bank ART X Prize. This year’s winner will go home with a cash prize, a solo presentation at Art X Lagos, a three month residency in London as well as mentorship and support.

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2021 edition of the Access Bank ART X Prize, Nigeria’s leading award for emerging artists! Created to bolster the careers of emerging Nigerian artists who have demonstrated a commitment to working as professional visual artists, the Prize provides a:
- 1.8 Million Naira Grant
- Solo presentation at ART X Lagos
- Three-month residency at Gasworks, London and;
- Mentorship and support.
Submissions will be evaluated by our distinguished panel of jurors: ruby onyinyechi amanze, Dexter Wimberly, Ndidi Dike, Ugoma Adegoke, Marie-Ann Yemsi, and Alessio Antoniolli.
Renowned artist and performer Wura-Natasha Ogunji is this year’s curator and brings a wealth of knowledge to crafting the robust program for 2021’s finalists at the Finalists’ Forum, as well as to mentoring the 2019 Winner Etinosa Yvonne as she develops an ambitious project for this year’s fair.
Emerging Nigerian artists who reside and work in Nigeria with at least 3 years of experience working in the visual arts are welcome to apply by visiting ARTXLAGOS.COM/PRIZE. Applications will be accepted until midnight on Sunday 1st August 2021. The Access Bank ART X Prize is sponsored by Access Bank in partnership with Gasworks.
