Lagos Fringe, Africa’s biggest open-access multidisciplinary arts festival, which is celebrating five years, opens on November 22, for the 2022 edition.
The festival scheduled to hold from November 22-27, 2022 from 9 am to 11 pm each day at Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos is to continue curating experiences, creating opportunities, expanding artist communities, developing skills, and building connections in the creative industry in Nigeria.
Ada The Country, a musical play, will headline the festival and features stars such as Joke Silva, Bambam of Big Brother Naija fame, Chigurl, and Kate Henshaw.
The theme for this year’s festival “New Narratives” is, the organisers say, inspired by the need to supervise the interpretation of how things work in the creative space in Nigeria and also to continue developing new skills, new connections, and new collaborative workspaces.
There will also be other highly interactive events that will provide artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances, film & media events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities with global creatives.
Some of this year’s workshop facilitators are MI Abaga, Cobhams Asuquo, wordsmiths; Efe Paul & Titilope Sonuga.
