A$AP Rocky reveals moment Rihanna fell in love with him

A$AP Rocky has shared the moment he believes Rihanna fell in love with him, years before they officially started dating. The Harlem rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, reminisced about their early days together, revealing that their chemistry sparked during the filming of his 2012 music video “Fashion Killa,” where Rihanna played his on-screen lover.

Rocky, 35, in a candid interview with W Magazine, pointed to a sofa in his Manhattan apartment, saying, “This is very special because this is the first place she fell in love with me,” while Rihanna giggled in the background. He added that the late Virgil Abloh shot the video, and the same couch featured in the first scene where they sat together.

The rapper also recounted an early encounter at a nightclub where Rihanna came to his rescue. “I was getting into it with the bouncers, and she came out. We just locked eyes. She didn’t even know us, but she was like, ‘Yo! Why y’all not letting him in? What’s wrong with you?! Let that man in!’”

Rocky revealed that he always knew Rihanna was the one, even from their younger days. They reconnected in 2019 and went public with their relationship in 2021. The couple has since welcomed two sons, RZA and Riot, born in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

In a recent Billboard interview, Rocky gushed about their relationship, highlighting their ability to balance chaotic schedules. “It’s crazy how we find balance with our hectic schedules. [The relationship] is going great. I don’t think there’s a more perfect person because when the schedules are hectic, she’s very understanding of that.”

Outside of his family life, Rocky is set to release his long-awaited fourth album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” later this year after delaying its original release date due to leaks.
