A$AP Rocky has revealed that Hollywood legend Denzel Washington is a surprisingly accomplished rapper, per film-news.co.uk.
The pair starred together in Spike Lee’s crime thriller Highest 2 Lowest last year. Speaking to W Magazine, Rocky recalled a scene where they performed together, noting that the Oscar winner showed no nerves.
“He actually wrote my part and his part,” Rocky shared. “Denzel Washington is quite the MC. I call him the ‘Word Philosopher’.”
Rocky described working with Washington, Lee, and co-star Jeffrey Wright as being guided by a “trifecta of old genius,” noting they “blessed me with a lot of jewels” throughout production.
The fashion icon also made light of fan theories regarding his appearance, joking that Washington is his “illegitimate father.” Despite his own global fame, Rocky admitted to still being starstruck by his co-star, as well as legends like André 3000 and Jay-Z. “I admire and respect them so much that I still fan out,” he added.
