Nick Cannon says he ‘needs help’ after NPD diagnosis

Nick Cannon has opened up about his recent diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), demonstrating remarkable vulnerability and a commitment to personal growth, per pagesix.com. The father of 12, known for his work on “The Masked Singer” and “Wild ‘n Out”, shared his journey of self-discovery during a recent episode of his podcast “Counsel Culture”.

Cannon, 44, admitted that he has long suspected something was different about his psychological makeup. “I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it,” he told People magazine while volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission Thanksgiving charity event.

Characterised by an inflated sense of self-importance and challenges with empathy, NPD is a complex mental health condition that Cannon is now confronting head-on. “I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help,'” he explained.

Working alongside Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, a psychology expert, Cannon has transformed his diagnosis into an opportunity for personal transformation. “To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too,” he emphasized.

This candid revelation comes at a time when Cannon is juggling parenting responsibilities with multiple partners, demonstrating his commitment to personal growth and family.

By publicly discussing his mental health journey, Cannon is challenging stigmas and encouraging others to seek understanding and professional support.
