Taylor Swift took a reflective turn as she marked a significant milestone in her career during her Eras Tour stop in Liverpool on Thursday, per ew.com. The concert, held at Anfield Stadium, was the 100th date of her extensive global tour, prompting Swift to open up about the journey and its forthcoming conclusion.
Addressing a stadium filled with enthusiastic fans, Swift pondered on how to celebrate the 100th show. “I think a lot of people are like, well, how are you going to celebrate the 100th show?” she began. “And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that’s it.”
This revelation was the first time the 14-time Grammy winner publicly confirmed the tour’s end date, which is set for December 8 in Vancouver, Canada. The Eras Tour, which began on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, has grown to include 152 shows across five continents.
Swift continued her heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude for the fans’ dedication. “That feels like so far away from now. But then again, it feels like I just did my first show on this tour, because you guys have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows.”
Reflecting on her life on tour, she admitted, “This tour has become my entire life. I don’t remember my hobbies anymore because all I do when I’m not on stage is just sit at home and try to think of some clever acoustic song mashups and thinking about what you might like to hear.”
Swift then thanked her fans for their unwavering support and celebrated the milestone with them. “I want to spend another show just thinking about that and living in this moment with you and being here with you and just know that I appreciate every single ounce of effort you put in to be with us.”
Concluding her message, Swift played the fan-favourite “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” a customary part of her setlist, before moving on to her next shows in Cardiff and London.
The Eras Tour has been a monumental chapter in Swift’s career, and as it approaches its final dates, fans can look forward to the concert film’s streaming release, complete with four bonus surprise songs.
