Body Type have released “Holding On”, a new song which is the opening track from their upcoming second album “Expired Candy”.
According to The Line of Best Fit, after announcing “Expired Candy” with the lead outing “Miss The World” last month, Body Type have delivered the album opener “Holding On”, which arrives with a video by Nick Mckk that was “filmed on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.”
Lead vocalist and guitarist Sophie McComish says, “”Holding On” came from a particular time and space but it has evolved into a personal mantra of sorts. I’m a quadruple Virgo so I find it a challenge to relinquish control and embrace uncertainty. Sometimes the only thing that’ll get you through though is the passing of time, and it’s cool to just submit to that and trust that the outcome will be the right one.”
Bassist Georgia Wilkinson-Derums adds, “This song is a product of writing at a distance. Just like that time ends up passing very discreetly until what you’re left with are quiet, hopeful memories that arm you for the future.”
“Expired Candy” will follow the band’s 2022 debut album Everything is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising.
“Holding On” is out now. Body Type’s Expired Candy album will arrive via Poison City Records on 2 June, and is available to pre-order now. They’ll play The Lexington in London on 5 July. Visit bodytypeband.com for tickets.
